Position Summary

• Leads development and execution of large-scale data structures and data pipelines to organize, collect and standardize data to generate insights and address reporting needs

• Writes complex ETL (Extract / Transform / Load) processes, designs database systems and develops tools for real-time and offline analytic processing

• Leverages broad industry knowledge of leading-edge technologies and expertise in programming skills such as Python and SQL to creatively solve business problems

• Provide technical leadership in developing vision, strategy, architecture and overall solution design

• Lead technical projects or programs, and has overall leadership responsibility for project architecture and design.

• Provide technical leadership and mentoring throughout the project lifecycle

• Actively facilitate design and technical discussions, reconciling differing opinions and drives decision making process.

• Articulate the tradeoffs, benefits and risks of all architecture and design solutions.

• Review and ensure architectural designs are consistent, maintainable, flexible, and cost effective.

• Proactively identify reuse opportunities.

• Own strategy of: System monitoring, Capacity planning, Disaster recovery, Production implementation and architecture.

• Bring a DevOps mindset to enable big data and batch/real-time analytical solutions that leverage emerging technologies.

• Develop prototypes and proof-of-concepts for the selected solutions, and implement complex big data projects.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of of progressive technology/engineering experience

• 4 or more years of Cloud experience (Azure, GCP or AWS)

• 4 or more years of experience building automated big data pipelines with recent experience as Lead or Principal Engineer

• Experience performing data analysis and data exploration

• Experience with big data frameworks

• Experience with deployment/scaling of apps on containerized environment (ex: Kubernetes, AKS)

• Experience with technical solutioning and system architecture design

• Experience partnering cross-functionally with other technical teams (i.e. data ingestion, data science, operational systems) to align priorities and achieve deliverable outcomes

• Experience with setting coding standards, performing code reviews, and mentoring junior developers

• Experience overseeing project delivery by mentoring junior technical developers

Preferred Qualifications

• Expertise in Python, RDBMS and NoSQL or similar

• Experience using Snowflake or Certified as Snowflake Data Architect

• Experience with Retail and/or Health Care

• Experience with GCP, specifically working with Big Query and Cloud Composer

• Expert experience with bash shell scripts, UNIX utilities & UNIX Commands

• Expertise in designing and building API’s / MicroServices

• Expert experience implementing complex, enterprise-wide data transformation and processing solutions

• Has in-depth knowledge of large-scale search applications and building high volume data pipelines

Education

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Machine Learning, or related discipline.

• Master’s degree preferred.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$144,200.00 - $288,400.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company’s equity award program.
