The Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) team can allow you to build and operate a massive scale, coordinated cloud services in a broadly distributed, multi-tenant cloud environment. Technical Operations and Support (TOS) Platform Engineering org is an exciting new group focused on the intersection of customer experience and support operations, and are leading the are modernization and standardization of how OCI provides support to its customer. We are looking for software engineers who are ready to begin new challenges in building a brand new highly available and scalable ticketing platform used for all cloud operations.

As a Senior Member on this Team, you will be driving the effort in designing, and delivering various platform components using latest technologies on OCI. You will partner with the architectures, learn about the existing challenges, and propose designs that influence the vision and direction. You will lead the entire software lifecycle – development, testing, CI/CD and production operations. You must balance between product feature development and production operational concerns like writing run books, ops automation, structured logging, instrumentation for metrics and events demonstrating a plethora of internal tooling at OCI.

From a technology perspective, this is a greenfield development environment with a huge amount of autonomy, leaving us free to build and innovate without being encumbered by legacy products and services.

Minimum Qualifications

We are looking for 3-5 years of experience shipping scalable, cloud native distributed systems

BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience

Ability to work in a collaborative, multi-functional team environment

Firm grasp of Computer Science concepts (data structures, algorithms, and programming paradigms)

Proficient in at Java, Python and shell scripting tools

Experience with container orchestration like Kubernetes/Docker Swarm/Mesos, experience working on Helm Charts, etc.

Experience with Identity and Access management

Strong working experience on GitHub/Bitbucket, TeamCity/Hudson, Maven/Gradle

You are experienced at building highly available services and possessing knowledge of common service-oriented design patterns and service-to-service communication protocols.

Experience with components of modern infrastructure like service discovery, secret storage, containerization, software-defined networking, etc.

Experience with production operations and standard methodologies for putting quality code in production and solving issues when they arise

Able to effectively communicate technical ideas verbally and in writing (technical proposals, design specs, architecture diagrams and presentations)

Preferred Qualifications

MS or equivalent experience in Computer Science

Experience in a fast-paced start-up environment

Experience building control plane/data plane solutions for cloud native companies

Experience in diagnosing, fixing and resolving performance issues in complex environments

we are looking for Experience in test automation

Deep understanding of Unix-like operating systems

Production experience with Cloud technologies

Data science and machine learning knowledge would be conducive but not required
