Mentor Leiden is recruiting for a Senior Financial Analyst (SFA), located in Leiden, The Netherlands.

Mentor Leiden reports through the Cardiovascular & Specialty Solutions (CSS) Group and falls under the MedTech Supply Chain division of Johnson & Johnson (J&J). Our company is based in Leiden, Netherlands, and is dedicated to the manufacturing and sale of breast implant products to more than 100 J&J Affiliates, who receive their products through the European Distribution Centre (EDC), located near Brussels. The Finance Department in Leiden has 5 employees and is responsible for all financial & accounting processes, as well as reporting, forecasting, and providing financial information to our various business partners. The ERP platform used is JD Edwards. We are currently looking for an SFA to join our dedicated team.

What you’ll do.

The SFA we are looking for is responsible for accuracy & completeness of manufacturing accounting and the analysis of manufacturing variances. Furthermore, the senior financial analyst has an important role regarding the identification and realization of cost savings and efficiencies of the manufacturing processes.

  • Performs reconciliation of inventory reports, variances, and expenses.

  • Prepares and analyzes inventory, variances, and expenses as well as materials, labor, overhead and scrap of all production work orders and summarizes major causes of variations.

  • Publishes and/or reviews Manufacturing variance reports relative to standard cost updates/changes.

  • Provides yield analysis for production based upon production levels, material usage variance transactions, and raw material usage.

  • Participates in preparation of month-end close financial information as appropriate.

  • Conducts review of aged inventory and monitors reserves balances for potential inventory losses or write-offs.

  • Monitors and tests effectiveness of cycle counting program.

  • Develops standard costs for current and new products.

  • Performs annual standard cost roll to determine appropriateness of cost uniformity, variances, and required standard changes.

  • Performs timely Sarbanes-Oxley testing and compliance/audit remediation items for relevant functional areas.

  • Supports various audits (Statutory Auditors, compliance, etc.)

  • Supports CapEx requests and calculations.

  • Ensures/supports timely and reliable CIP & Capital tracking.

  • Ensures Quarterly Tax hand-off.

  • Complete CBS (Dutch Central Statistical Office) reports.

  • Supports ad hoc requests / projects.

  • Participates in training to increase knowledge & skills.

  • Ensure finance & non-finance policies and procedures are followed.

Qualifications

To be successful, you demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively at all levels within a matrix business locally and regionally/globally. You have a demonstrable history of developing strong business partnerships and successful collaboration. Further requirements include:

  • Required minimum education: Bachelor / University degree in Business Economics or equivalent.

  • Required 5 years progressive finance experience.

  • Strong command of English, both spoken and written.

  • Proven understanding of cost accounting and project controlling principles.

  • Good general systems skills, including proficiency with MS Office (esp. Excel & PowerPoint).

  • Previous experience and knowledge of systems / applications: JDE, Power BI, and Alteryx.

  • Previous experience and knowledge of Sales & Operations Planning process, international legal entity statutory & regulatory requirements, trade compliance / intercompany product & financial flows, and financial audits.

  • Proven ability with taking the initiative and ownership of assigned tasks and a natural, hands-on mentality.

  • Strong analytical, technical accounting and problem-solving skills with proficiency to integrate emerging digital technologies, tools & visualization techniques to drive finance workload efficiencies and deep insights.

  • Proficiency to network, collaborate and generate consensus effectively in a matrixed, international environment possessing strong interpersonal skills, promoting inclusion, and building trusting relationships with business partners across all cultures, functions, and levels of the organization.

  • Demonstrated continuous improvement mindset.

  • Prior healthcare / medical device industry experience.
