Role description:

Arcadis is seeking a Remediation System Technician to join our team in Seattle, WA. While this position requires both field and office work, the candidate should expect to spend 95-100% of their time in the field.? 

As part of our Resilience Environment team, you will help improve quality of life. With your expertise as a Remediation System Technician, you will assist project sites throughout the region with active operations and maintenance wastewater and water treatment systems, and other remedial treatment systems, environmental monitoring, waste coordination, and subcontractor oversight.

The ideal candidate has previous experience  in operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting treatment systems (includes but not limited to: Mixers, oil/water separators, waste transfer pumps, holding tanks, cooling towers, filters, power and control panels, recorders, feeders, proportioning pumps, chemicals and slurries, chemical testing equipment such as pH meters, color test and settling agents, beakers, titration apparatus, material handling equipment, chemical and sludge waste barrels, clarifiers, polymer feed modules, filter press, sludge dryer, pH/ORP control equipment, groundwater remediation equipment such as well l pumps, level/flow controls, stripping tower, blowers, vapor phase control unit, media filters, baghouse filter, gauges, sensors, safety equipment, clothing and hand tools) of all complexity, and an aptitude for mechanical and electrical problem solving.

Role accountabilities:

In this role, your responsibilities will involve performing remedial system O&M, troubleshooting, optimization, and monitoring/sampling. You will ensure that Health and Safety in the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and always acting in a safe and controlled manner. You will assure integrity, cleanliness, and security of system buildings/enclosures and equipment. And provide prompt communication to the project management team when equipment is not safe and/or functioning at optimal performance to meet project objectives.

The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined with experience operating and troubleshooting tools and equipment. The ideal candidate will also read and have a general understanding of mechanical, electrical, and controls drawings. Effective time management, the ability to work with diverse people and skill sets, and the ability to adapt to changing work environments will be crucial in this role. You will utilize solid written and verbal communication skills and sound judgement to make good decisions benefitting the project and the client.

Operate, monitor, troubleshoot, repair, and adjust treatment plant machinery and equipment including pumps, valves, motors, meters, tanks, reservoirs, feeders, and other equipment to ensure system is operating at optimal operation for the established metrics including Municipal, State, and Federal codes for environmental protection of waterways and air quality.

Performs system preventative maintenance procedures and checks. Ensure all activities are being performed in accordance with our Quality Management System. Provide prompt communication to project management team when equipment is not safe and/or functioning at optimal performance to meet project objectives.
