What will you do?
The successful candidate will install, maintain and repair Thermo Fisher's range of Electron Microscopes, Focused Ion Beam and Surface Analysis systems while driving customer allegiance through a high-quality customer service experience
Responsibilities and deliverables include:
Install, commission, maintain and repair our range of industry leading products
Provide training for customers and users on system operation and maintenance
Cultivate and develop positive working relationships with customers, users and company personnel
Serve as the company liaison on technical matters for assigned systems and projects
Complete and submit field service reports
Provide feedback to product quality teams
Provide appropriate input in writing updating and correcting documentation
Act as a subject expert and resource for training
How will you get here?
This position is ideal for an experienced service engineer wanting to be involved with a dynamic team and exposed to a constant variety of customer application areas.
Education:
Typically requires a university degree, or a combination of education and experience that demonstrate the required skills.
Experience:
2 or more years of professional experience in Field Service Engineering in Electron Microscopy or similar field is preferred
Candidates with no experience in a Field Service Engineering with exposure to Electron Microscopy are encouraged to apply
Experience in ultra-high vacuum and high voltage systems is preferred
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Strong technical, analytical and troubleshooting skills
Able to read and interpret schematics and troubleshoot electrical/electronic systems
Able to work with and repair mechanical systems
Able to troubleshoot and resolve PC and software issues
Able to balance multiple assignments simultaneously
Able to set priorities and consistently meet deadlines
Able to work independently or collaboratively within a small team
Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
Able to deal effectively with customers at all levels
Other Job Requirements:
Able to travel domestically and internationally often at short notice
An Australian citizen or permanent resident
A current driver’s licence
