Abbott Head Commercial Controlling & Operations in Mumbai, India

Partners trade (sales & marketing) function & Works closely with the trade team on the budgeting exercise.

CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Partner with Channel/Accounts team in Trade Sales and Trade Customer marketing in building Sales, Gross-To-Net, and Profitability forecast at SKU/Brand/customer/account/channel level with region/state level cuts

Oversee and manage Trade GTN/price offs/consumer promotions/etc and sales promotion budgets and processes related to approvals, Return on Investment forecast and post-facto analysis

Review and standardize Terms of Trade and margins across channels/accounts and look for margin optimization opportunities year on year

Review market returns (expired/non saleable) at brand/channel/geography level and put in place the plans to optimize market returns

Review inventory aging, short expiry inventory, demand pattern at SKU/Channel level to minimize risk towards expiries and obsolescence

Prepare commercial/financial analysis, what-if scenarios for various business strategies

Conduct pre and post evaluation of consumer promotions/various schemes considering ROI assessment

Conduct regular field visits (customers/consumers) to get outside-in perspective

Prepare monthly gross-to-net and profitability MIS for all channel/ account/ brand/ SKU/ region/ state and other cuts as relevant. Circulate MIS with relevant stakeholders, conduct review discussions and act upon the derived action items.

Analyse financial/commercial data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.

Communicate with senior management to provide insights and recommendations on improvements in business processes.

Control the distributor claims process – disseminate clear policies and procedures, communicate with Trade sales and customer marketing team.

Track and control the accounts receivables and DSO on daily basis.

Responsible for accurate and timely maintenance of price master.

Actively partner with trade team to resolve issues with direct Modern Trade/ E-commerce accounts; liaison with finance counterparts of key accounts for the same.

Coordinate with CFS function for taxation, treasury, accounting, auditing, and other relevant matters.

Handle various audits including resolution of queries.

Support the Finance Director in development, implementation and maintaining accounting and administrative policies and procedures for a wide-ranging set of activities including financial accounting and reporting and other corporate policies

Actively coordinate towards building systems, automation/use of technology and processes to improve/bring efficiency on MIS/ financial and commercial analysis/ Distributor Claims & Account Receivables of a rapidly growing business. Assist in reviewing existing Finance/commercial SOPs.

Work on effectiveness of Trade Spend – ROI analysis

Manage end-to-end Export business from finance perspective including pricing, claims, documentation, etc

MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE

10+ Years

  • Experience of 10 - 12 years with at least 5 years’ of work experience in FMCG/ healthcare industry

  • Should understand business, its key drivers and the impact on the business of the company and drive company policies effectively.

  • Should have strong analytical skills, interpersonal skills, hight integrity, should be able to challenge the commercial teams to drive results.

  • Collaborate with other functions in ensuring process and controls are maintained.

  • Should have an experience of managing team – team development
