Job Summary

The Systems Configuration Project Specialist II is responsible for providing a broad range of project coordination and support to the department Directors, Managers, Project Managers, and staff. This position:

Is responsible for identifying, defining, and developing reporting systems, project plans, etc. that timely and accurately reflect the status of deliverables and the overall health of projects.

Works closely with departmental management staff to identify resources needed for the projects and the related roles and responsibilities of those resources.

Collaborates cross-functionally with various internal and external stakeholders on the preparation, update, etc. of project documentation, business cases, etc. to help ensure that timelines are met, renegotiated (as applicable), etc.

Collaborates cross-functionally to ensure that applicable policies, procedures, job aids, etc. are prepared and updated timely and accurately.

Leads/facilitates assigned meetings and conference calls on behalf of the department.

Trouble-shoots and resolves related issues, questions, etc.

Duties

Provide a broad range of project coordination and support to the department Directors, Managers, Project Managers, and staff. Work closely with departmental management staff to identify resources needed for the projects and the related roles and responsibilities of those resources. Lead/facilitate assigned meetings and conference calls on behalf of the department. Trouble-shoot and resolve system configuration related issues, questions, etc. Ensure accurate tracking and reporting of project progress, including analyzing and consolidating project data and preparing reports.

Identify, define, and develop reporting systems, project plans, etc. that timely and accurately reflect the status of deliverables and the overall health of projects. Identify, and record project risks and develop recommendations for improvement/ resolution in collaboration with project stakeholders. Handle system configuration projects for proper status and progress. Interact directly with project stakeholders (both internal and external) to keep them updated as to progress on different projects. Recommend and implement improvements to project work, in collaboration with other service delivery teams.

Associate's Degree

In lieu of degree, equivalent education and/or experience may be considered.

Experience

Required:

At least 4 years project management experience (including analyzing and developing related metrics) and working with databases, preferably in the managed care or healthcare field.

Skills

Required:

Intermediate computer skills (including Microsoft Project, Access, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Strong organizational skills.

Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

Strong leadership, team-building, customer service, and presentation skills.

Preferred:

Experience with and knowledge of the Medi-Cal, Medicare, Market Place/Exchange, Commercial and Individual lines of business and other related government-funded/sponsored healthcare programs.
