The International Co-Brand & Business Development Finance Team (IBD Finance) is a highly respected decision support team that works closely with multiple business partners to provide consultative finance support for Co-Brand and Membership Rewards deals, portfolio acquisitions, market optimization and other types of business development initiatives across International markets.

Based in London, this role will provide an opportunity to contribute to some of the most strategic partnerships in the ICS organization, interact with a wide range of senior executives in both Business and Finance, and develop analytical and value-added recommendations that have tangible impact on business decisions and overall company performance.

How will you make an impact in this role?

  • Developing business cases, sensitivity analyses and risk assessment for Co-Brand and MR deals, portfolio acquisitions/migrations, and other types of business development initiatives

  • Working with the business to identify critical business questions, frame the correct analyses to make decisions, and rapidly drive those analyses to closure

  • Performing valuation, financial analysis, and due diligence on potential credit card portfolio acquisitions or market optimization initiatives

  • Using best practice data science to improve assumptions and insights including modelling assumptions, understanding portfolio profitability, vintage assumptions, etc.

  • Providing high quality strategic & conceptual thinking and analysis to help business partners structure and negotiate commercial offers with external partners

  • Partnering with Finance colleagues in the International Card Services and Merchant businesses, as well as counterparts in Controllership, Taxation and Treasury, to ensure business cases include all cross-LOB, legal entity, taxation, foreign exchange and funding considerations

  • Presenting commercial proposals and financial projections to senior business and finance leaders for approval, interacting with senior management across ICS, ensuring consistency of output and analysis

Minimum Qualifications

  • Strong analytical skillset and ability to develop and enhance complex financial models, advanced Excel and modelling skills required, coding skills (e.g. SQL) are a significant advantage

  • Excellent communication, influencing and presentation skills, with the ability to identify and communicate key insights succinctly

  • Ability to develop solid working relationships with finance colleagues and senior business stakeholders from diverse cultures

  • Ability to work independently under pressure and deliver strong & accurate results

  • Good commercial acumen, sense of personal excellence and accountability

  • Good understanding of payments industry, consumer card economics, valuation principles/methodologies
