Responsibilities

The Mechanical Technician III, at an advanced level, must have demonstrated knowledge of creating, setting up, assembling and performing testing on various MLWD and RSS drilling system tools to meet test qualifications outlined by industry standard and engineering team Will work individually and as part of a team. The team consists of product line engineers and managers in order to identify and enable product improvements, standardization, certification, etc. Support management and perform various other duties and activities as assigned within the physical constraints of the job.

  • Maintains the highest standards of corporate governance, ensuring that all activities are carried out ethically and in compliance with Company policies and procedures, relevant laws, regulations, standards and industry practices

  • Responsible with being familiar with the Company's Security, Compliance & HSE policies and takes an active role in the compliance & improvement of Weatherfords Management System including meeting all reporting requirements

  • In a supervisory / management role demonstrates effective safety leadership by being responsible for the health and safety arrangements of all and any subordinates and for any persons visiting them while on the Company premises to enhance the Company’s commitment to safety performance

    QUALITY

  • Responsible for being familiar with the Company's Quality policies and takes an active role in the compliance and improvement of Weatherfords Management System

  • Maintains service quality as immediate priorities when working across all areas of the business

    OPERATIONS

  • Demonstrate knowledge of high speed practices and standards for electronic circuit boards and assemblies.

  • Will contribute to analysis, design, testing, integration and documentation of printed circuit assemblies and higher-level system interfaces.

  • Sustaining work with product engineers and managers to identify and enable product improvements, standardization, certification, etc. as well as identifying and approving alternates due to obsolescence and supply shortages.

  • Assist field engineers with equipment failures and anomalies via internal remote support queries.

    COMMUNICATION

  • Maintains effective communications with all key stakeholders both internal and where appropriate external

  • In a supervisory/management role clearly communicates expectations, roles and responsibilities to their reports

    FINANCIAL

  • Costs incurred should be within approved budget and processed within agreed time frames and following the relevant financial policy and procedure

Qualifications

Experience & Education

REQUIRED

  • High school diploma/GED/C&G/ITI or equivalent.

  • 10 years of working experience in a technical environment.

    PREFERRED

  • 15 or more years of working experience in a technical environment.

  • Associates degree, bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience in a relevant technical field.

    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

    REQUIRED

  • Experience with prototype fabrication, assembly, testing and reporting.

  • Able to use common electronics bench equipment and soldering techniques to assemble and test electronic sub-assemblies and/or test equipment.

  • Experience operating material handling equipment (Forklift, Overhead Hoist, Scissor Lift, etc.)

  • Experience using hand tools (Pipe Wrench, Adjustable Wrench, Screwdriver, Measuring Tape, etc.)

  • Understands how to work safely within a variety of potentially dangerous areas.

  • Must have the ability to work occasional overtime.

  • Highly self-motivated and focused independent/team worker.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

  • Computer literate with experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Able to read, review, and create good quality written reports in English, including digital photographs, illustrations, spreadsheets, and recorded/charted data from tests performed.

  • Ability to follow verbal instructions.

  • Ability to physically respond to emergency situations.

  • Ability to read and comprehend drawings/prints and tool layouts.

    PREFERRED

  • Knowledge of rotary steerable systems.

  • Experience with Solidworks/Creo/Imventor.

  • Working knowledge of downhole oilfield tools.

  • Familiar with generating manufacturing detailed drawings.

  • Methodical, proactive and naturally inquisitive.

  • Good communication skills.
