Within Morgan Stanley, Credit Risk Management (CRM) evaluates credit risk transactions, especially loans and derivatives, from all BUs within the Firm and approves, rejects, or modifies them considering the availability and appropriateness of arrangements for reducing risk or risk mitigation. The department also assigns Internal Credit Ratings; establishes and manages credit risk limits in accordance with the risk tolerance established by the Board; monitors and reports on credit risk exposures on a regular basis to the Chief Risk Officer and senior management. CRM also interacts with business units to ensure that credit risk assessments are factored into business decisions.

About the Role

Based at the Firm's regional headquarters in Hong Kong, the Asia Credit Risk Department is currently seeking a high-performing and hands-on credit risk professional at the experienced Analyst or junior Associate level in the Corporate Credit Risk team, with key focus on corporates across Asia (Greater China, Australia, India, Japan, Korea, Southeast Asia).

Key Responsibilities:

*• *Perform necessary credit due diligence and analysis on borrowers and trading counterparties of the Firm.

*• *Conduct high quality credit analysis on the counterparty and the sector and recommend for approval financing (corporate loans, leveraged finance, margin loans, private credit) and derivatives transactions.

*• *Conduct client calls, perform independent research and establish credit ratings of counterparties.

*• *Approve transactions / credit limits up to level of delegated credit authority and work closely with Senior Credit Officers

*• *Present credit risk views on global commitments committees

*• *Prepare and review loan and annual/ quarterly review memos for active/ potential counterparties.

*• *Review loan / derivatives documentation with counterparties and propose credit terms to IBD/ Capital Markets/ Sales colleagues.

*• *Conduct industry research and develop sovereign and macro risk views to support decision making.

*• *Monitor portfolio quality on the assigned sectors on an ongoing basis and recommend rating actions/ asset classification.

*• *Make presentations to regional and global risk teams on sector analysis and deep dives.

Qualifications, Skills & Requirements

*• *Bachelor’s degree preferably in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or Economics (not mandatory)

*• *At least two years of credit analysis experience in the financial services industry

*• *Strong credit analysis skills and intellectual curiosity to question, challenge and learn.

*• *Fluency in English and Mandarin is essential.

*• *Excellent communication skills and ability to build network with global colleagues in London and NY as well as with regional business stakeholders.

*• *Ability to work independently on multiple ongoing transactions.

*• *Good team player with strong initiative and appetite to learn in a fast-paced environment.

*• *Willingness to excel and go beyond expectation.
