Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center Clinical Research Assistant- Endo in Findlay, Ohio

PURPOSE OF THIS POSITION The BVMP Clinical Research Assistant works under the principal clinical investigator's direction, along with other professionals on the clinical research team, and assists in all aspects of different clinical trials. JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES * Duty 1: Effectively utilizes available research-related resources to ensure proper recruitment, enrollment, protocol treatment, and follow-up requirements outlined in the research protocol are met. * Duty 2: Obtains informed consent from the participants and ensuring their rights and safety. * Duty 3: Attention to detail to collect, code, analyze, and accurately obtain and report data obtained from the study. * Duty 4: Maintains accurate and complete documentation of the study procedures and records. * Duty 5: Communicates with the PI or other clinical research coordinator to the sponsor, the regulatory authorities, and other stakeholders involved in the study. * Duty 6: Monitors and reporting any adverse events or deviations from the study protocol. * Duty 7: Ensures compliance with the ethical and regulatory guidelines and standards. * Duty 8: Promotes and educates the public, patients, physicians, and clinical staff about clinical trials to facilitate enrollment of patients onto clinical research. * Duty 9: Collaborates with physicians and clinical staff in determining potential research protocols and patient eligibility to facilitate enrollment of patients onto clinical research. * Duty 10: Complies with organizational policies, procedures, and practices to ensure quality job performance and organizational compliance. * Duty 11: Effectively interfaces with associated research group personnel to ensure communication of important research program related information and communication of enrollment, protocol treatments, adverse events, and follow-up information of patients enrolled on clinical research. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS * High School Diploma or equivalent * 1 year experience in a medical or clinical setting * Ability to work independently and with a team. * Ability to problem-solve, critically think, effectively communicate and decision-making skills. * Time management, Multi-tasking and Prioritization are needed skills. * Positive service-oriented interpersonal and communication skills required. * Individual must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient served on his/her assigned unit/department. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient status. Must be able to interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to their age-specific needs and to provide the care needed as described in the area's policies and procedures. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: * Degree in a related medical field, such as public health administration, biomedical technologies, or microbiology * Research study experience PHYSICAL DEMANDS This position requires a full range of body motion with intermittent walking, lifting, bending, squatting, kneeling, twisting and standing. The associate will be required to walk for up to one hour a day, sit continuously for six hours a day and stand for one hour a day. The individual must be able to lift twenty to fifty pounds and reach work above the shoulders. The individual must have good eye-hand coordination and fine finger dexterity for simple grasping tasks. The individual must have excellent verbal communication skills to perform daily tasks.
