Insight Global Construction/Survey Project Manager in Chesterton, Indiana

Job Description

1. Manage construction layout projects. Project will be handled from Initial setup through final close out.

2. Direct the planning and development of the project scope, procedures, and budget.

3. Review contracts to determine significant parameters, time schedules and mileposts, and define the major task areas.

4. Ensure contractual commitments are met and the work is being performed according to the client's instructions.

5. Coordinate client contact, field crew scheduling, and maintain working relationships at all levels throughout the period of the project.

6. Resolve problems and coordinate the final turnover of the project to the client.

7. Responsible for project quality control.

8. Monitor fees and manage budgets.

9. Prepare project safety plan with support from the safety coordinator. Review safety plan and address health & safety concerns on assigned projects with field personnel. Conduct field safety audits.

10. Prepare cost estimates and proposals.

11. Perform and coordinate with office staff: plan review; prepare necessary computations; daily field work review (QA/QC); and final deliverable preparation.

12. Check and approve field crew time sheets.

13. A continuous workload will be self-generated through chasing projects (preparing proposals), through current client relationships, and developing new clients.

14. Meet with clients as necessary for the above items as well as to develop relationships.

Skills and Requirements

- Bachelor's Degree in surveying, related construction, engineering field or equivalent with 2 years' experience in a junior or similar role is preferred; a comparable combination of education and experience can be considered.

- Has demonstrated management skills and job performance at the preceding job level

- Experience with some of the following (AutoCad, Civil3D, Trible Survey Equipment, Leica Scanners)

- Ability to visit and safely traverse construction and project sites, complying with all applicable safety codes and requirements. - Survey Intern License

- Ability/Want to obtain Professional Licensure as a Surveyor null
