Robert Half Category Manager- Rail, Truck and Facilities in Charlotte, North Carolina

Description

We are offering an opportunity to take on the role of a Category Manager in the manufacturing industry. This role is based in Charlotte, North Carolina, and will require on-site attendance from Monday to Friday. The successful candidate will be responsible for the strategic management of all rail and truck operations, as well as facilities management in the North American region.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage all rail and truck procurement in the North American region

• Assume responsibility for strategic facilities management

• Collaborate with the Indirect Procurement and Logistics team

• Apply ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning knowledge in day-to-day operations

• Utilize Microsoft Excel for data management and analysis

• Apply skills in Indirect Procurement to optimize operations

• Implement Category Management strategies to improve efficiency

• Be prepared for a travel requirement of approximately 20%

• Act promptly to fill this backfill position

• Work collaboratively with the Vice President of Indirect Procurement and Logistics to achieve strategic objectives.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a procurement role within the Manufacturing industry

• Proficiency in ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning systems

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel

• Demonstrated experience in Indirect Procurement

• Knowledge and experience in Category Management

• Excellent communication and negotiation skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management or related field is preferred

• Proven track record of cost-effective purchasing decisions.

• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.

• Strong understanding of the manufacturing industry's purchasing needs and standards.

• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

• Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team.

• Proven track record of maintaining strong relationships with suppliers.

• Ability to analyze market trends and apply insights to procurement strategies.

• Strong ethical standards and integrity in all business dealings.
