As a DRAM BIOS Firmware Engineer at Micron Technology, Inc., you will join a team working closely with system platform enablers to enable Micron on next generation system platforms. The role is focused on the design, development, verification, integration, improvement, debug, maintenance, deployment, and documentation of UEFI BIOS firmware source code. You will be encouraged to participate in all phases of firmware development and understand how your solutions will be applied to support DSCG activities and Micron's customers.

Your day to day functions includes engaging with other Micron engineers and technicians from groups including Production Engineering, Test Solutions Engineering, Global Quality, System Enablers and sometimes connecting with external customers. We work with other specialists and management within the Compute Design Engineering Group as well as other individuals from other departments throughout Micron.

Responsibilities and tasks:

  • Improve BIOS firmware source code to enable system functionality

  • Provide ongoing support of firmware used by internal and external groups

  • Direct collaboration with System Enablers outside of Micron

  • Continually acquire new skills (software/hardware) and knowledge

  • Configure and debug system-level hardware and peripherals

  • Support FA and system analysis for DRAM compatibility lab through BIOS tools

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience

  • Firmware: Low level Linux and/or Windows Drivers, UEFI BIOS Source Code, Insyde, AMI

  • Software: Assembly, C/C++, Linux, Python

  • Hardware: X86, System, Motherboard, DRAM, Intel, AMD, ARM

  • Excellent analytical, analysis, and problem-solving skills

  • Self motivated and enthusiastic

The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is:

$90,000.00 - $175,000.00

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries of the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training. Additional compensation may include benefits, discretionary bonuses and equity.
