Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Conduct onshore wind and solar resource assessment, yield modelling and modelling of hybrid onshore wind, solar and storage energy systems. This will include projects in support of Green H¬¬2 production. Quality of deliverables will project stage, ranging from feasibility up to industry best practice, financial grade assessments.

  • Design wind and solar measurement campaigns, support deployment of measurements. Perform quality control of recorded data, and preparation for yield assessments.

  • Deliver energy yield and related performance assumptions into project financial models, and provide Resource Assessment inputs and expertise to other technical teams.

  • Provide input to the overall integrated project design and assess impact of design choices on energy yield.

  • Support the development of layout design options and assessment of turbine / module options from a yield perspective.

  • Conduct energy yield related due diligence activities and provide assurance of third-party energy yield assessments.

  • Stay up to date with industry best practices and innovations and support the internal development of standardised procedures and tools.

  • Collaborate with other low carbon energy technical teams, in particular, offshore wind, to develop and align on methodologies, standards and best practices where appropriate, and contribute to knowledge sharing across colleagues working in Resource Assessment.

  • Demonstrate beliefs which promote a safe and environmentally responsible work culture, ensuring HSSE risks are considered.

Qualification & Experience:

• Engineering degree or related discipline required.

• Technical expertise in discipline, with a minimum of 5 years direct experience in energy yield analysis.

• A breadth of experience across solar, onshore wind and storage technologies, experience in hydrogen production technology and working within a central technology team is a plus.

• Experience with industry software such as Openwind, Windographer, CFD software, PVSyst.

• Software or tool development, or coding in Python or other relevant languages is beneficial.

• Energy Analysis of operating wind and solar plants is beneficial.

• A good understanding of the key value drivers of projects that relate to yield analysis and ability to drive competitiveness without a detrimental impact on safety or quality.

• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate and influence within and outside of team, as well as with internal and external project stakeholders.
