Position Summary

The Program Manager will assist the Undiagnosed Diseases Network ( UDN ) grant’s Principal Investigators, Community Engagement Committee with overall project management, coordination of community engagement activities across UDN clinical, affiliate, and extended sites. They will work closely with local and national community stakeholders, health systems representatives, and the UDN leadership team. The Program Manager will be responsible for planning and coordinating all operational facets of the community engagement coordination within the UDN , programmatically and administratively. As such the ideal candidate will be adept at project management, community engagement, and effectively managing staff and fiscal resources.

The Program Manager will monitor the overall productivity of the project including the outcomes of all activities of the UDN , clinical, affiliate, and extended sites. This position is responsible for monitoring the activities, work product, workflow and accomplishments of the sites. The Program Manager will need to be a self-starter, to ensure that all programs proposed are best fit to address the local and national needs and demands stipulated in the grant applications. Responsibilities include training, providing technical assistance, staff supervision and management; review, coordination, and expansion of community engagement activities with UDN clinical, affiliate, and extended sites. In addition, she or he will also provide training, as needed, to self-selected sites and community partners; in addition to working with key community stakeholders ensuring sustainability of projects beyond the allotted funding period. The Program Manager will provide guidance for coordination and engagement activities. The Program Manager is responsible for completing the required reports and other required paperwork (monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, program summaries, etc.).

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.

  • Minimum of two (2) years of community-engaged program coordination and project management is required

    Preferred Qualifications

  • Master of Public Health Degree

  • Three (3) years of experience working in a community-based setting, understanding the underserved community

  • Experienced in assisting organizations in monitoring programmatic development and implementation.

  • Experienced in assisting sub-recipients in community needs assessments, program implementation, and evaluation within required fidelity parameters.

  • Experienced in engaging in the development of community prevention infrastructure by collaborating with community stakeholders and MOU development within communities.

  • Experienced and understands compliance with governmental agency funding standards.

  • Experience in providing collaboration on programs and projects, as appropriate, with other program staff, and community partners.

  • Experience in revitalizing strategies to meet a wide variety of challenges including those of capacity building and strategic planning.

  • Skilled in project management, community assessment, and implementing strategies that position communities to effectively participate in the research process.

  • Ability to understand complex research (qualitative/quantitative) and distill findings into clear, strategic insights

  • Experience in completing and maintaining IRB approvals and other regulatory documents.

  • Adept at working with multiple stakeholders and facilitating change to support organizational objectives.

  • Ability to think creatively and provide innovative solutions to communication challenges/problems.

Job Duties

Description of Job Duty

  • Responsible for daily operations of a project including project planning and implementation.

  • Will attend committee meetings.

  • Will work closely and individually with subcontracting partners to ensure all programmatic and fiscal obligations are met.

  • Will ensure all community engagement site deliverables are being monitored and site evaluations conducted across community engagement partner sites.

  • Will maintain partnerships with statewide and community-level stakeholders.

  • Will draft required reports.

  • Will conduct preliminary data analysis for dissemination of findings.

  • Will assist with programmatic development, implementation, and monitoring at UDN sites.

  • Will collaborate on program and project needs with other program staff and community partners, as needed.

  • Will develop and monitor the implementation of goals, objectives, and procedures for sites.

  • Will identify gaps, prioritize needs, and provide technical assistance to community sites to overcome challenges.

  • Will ensure evidence-based programs are implemented with fidelity.

  • Will be responsible for grant planning, budgeting, and reporting activities.

  • Will assist with development and monitoring of implementation of goals, objectives, and procedures for network-wide community engagement activities.

  • Willing to travel to UDN sites and network meetings.

It is MSM’s Immunization policy that all Prospective Employees are required to provide proof that they are vaccinated against COVID -19 prior to commencement of employment. If employment will commence during Flu Season, MSM requires all individuals to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless granted an exemption. Failure to provide proof of vaccination for any required vaccines or obtain an exemption from MSM will result in rescission of a candidate’s offer of employment or disciplinary action up to and including termination.
