Google Financial Analyst, Cloud Central Strategic Finance in Austin, Texas

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, a related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 4 years of experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A), consulting, or a related function, or an advanced degree.

  • Experience in manipulating data sets using SQL or another programming/scripting language.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Familiarity with industry research tools and platforms (e.g., FactSet, AlphaSense, etc.).

  • Knowledge of measurement, statistics and program evaluation, and interest in data, metrics, analysis and trends.

  • Ability to work across teams, build relationships and influence executive managers.

  • Ability to work quickly to support critical product launches and public disclosures.

  • Ability to translate analysis results into business recommendations, with excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with effective business acumen to drive analysis.

Financial Analysts ensure that Google makes sound financial decisions. As a Financial Analyst, your work, whether it's modeling business scenarios or tracking performance metrics, is used by our leaders to make strategic company decisions. Working on multiple projects at a time, you are focused on the details while finding creative ways to take on big picture challenges.

As someone who knows the workings of the core Finance team inside and out, you'll lead individual projects to transform planning, tracking and control processes. You'll provide senior level management with insightful recommendations, planning and reporting support.

Our Central Finance team supports Cloud leadership, partnering and providing them with a strategic plan to accelerate growth of the business. We drive prioritization efforts and advise on how to invest resources for long-term, sustainable business growth.

In this role, you will power the data released externally, and enable meaningful claims that thoughtfully tell the Cloud story through data. It also involves delivering strategic insights to Cloud Leadership through engaged intelligence analyses.

From developing forward-thinking analysis to generating management reports to scaling our automated financial processes, the Finance organization is an important partner and advisor to the business.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $108,000-$158,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.   • Source, validate, and report on key financial and business metrics required for submission as part of regulatory investigations and litigation.

  • Collaborate with Finance and Legal business partners to develop strategic responses to regulatory inquiries, mitigating risk to Cloud while influencing external narratives.

  • Run cloud metrics council which is standardized governance process for developing, validating and disclosing Cloud metrics externally (e.g., at Google Next, investor conferences, earnings etc.).

  • Work closely with business, Google Communications and Marketing stakeholders to build compelling, data-backed claims that highlight Google Cloud's strengths.

  • Support delivery of participant benchmarking and market intelligence updates for Cloud leadership, modeling financial performance of key participants based on external disclosures, industry research. Analyze macroeconomic conditions impacting customer spend dynamics and Cloud’s Total Addressable Market.
